Nuneaton & Bedworth Healthy Living Network

Helping our local community stay fit and healthy.

About The HLN

Our aim is to get the local community healthy and active by providing activities and resources across Nuneaton and Bedworth.

Ediblelinks uses food surplus to reduce poverty and diet related ill health. We do this by running a food bank and providing food to the community.

We are a small team of 10 paid staff and over 50 volunteers. As we emerge from Covid-19 restrictions we will be looking for volunteers again but presently we have enough people to help us with what we have to do.

Our Story

Nuneaton and Bedworth Healthy Living Network (HLN) was originally part of the Big Lottery fund £300million Healthy Living Centre programme.

We are a registered charity with the aim of reducing health inequalities by promoting and protecting the physical and mental health of the inhabitants of Northern Warwickshire and the surrounding areas.

Governed by volunteer Directors who meet at least 4 times a year and oversee the work, ensuring the objectives of the Charity are upheld. We are always open to new people joining our Board of Directors. We have a list of skills we need at anyone time to keep the membership balanced, if you are interested in finding out more please call 024 7632 2048 to request a Board of Directors Application Pack.

Over the last 14 years HLN has developed strong relationships with local communities and consequently we effectively deliver local solutions to local problems, involve the local community in service delivery, become hubs for partnership working and community development.

We have worked in 6 priority neighbourhoods in Nuneaton and Bedworth building up a wealth of experience, knowledge and success in engaging the hard to reach people with an outreach approach. More recently we have been working across the whole of Warwickshire to scale up our operations and share our best practice.

In Nuneaton & Bedworth we won the MJAwards for Health Inequalities with NBBC in 2012, shortlisted for Health Journal Awards in 2014, have worked with National Charity Mens Health Forum to advise on tackling mens health inequalities and NICE on developing guidelines for community weight management and long term condition management.

We have a strong reputation as being an anchor in the local area, we can and do use our assets and resources to benefit our local communities. Excellent partnership working enables us to collectively do more.
